Casting for Berverly Hillbillies

We are going to be casting for the upcoming production of ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’ on the 8th and 9th December. Here is a breakdown of the available roles.

Beverly Hillbillies Casting breakdown:

THE CLAMPETTS:

GRANNY: A spry and snippy elderly lady aged somewhere in her sixties (or older), but can be played by a younger actress (aged up).

JED: An honest but naive middle-aged man.

ELLY MAY: A real tomboy, but clearly a beautiful woman underneath – aged 18 plus.

COUSIN PEARL: The most educated and “citified” of the Clampetts, middle-aged.

JETHRO: Cousin Pearl’s son, a huge muscular boy, about twenty and none too bright.

OTHER ROLES:

GEORGE TURNER: A young geologist aged 18 plus.

BREWSTER: A stuffy executive, any age.

MR DRYSDALE: A dignified but stuffy middle-aged man, president of a Beverly Hills bank.

MRS DRYSDALE: Fussy, plump and snobbish social matron. Middle-aged.

MISS HATHAWAY: An ‘old-maid’ type of secretary, any age.

MRS PENNYWEATHER: A tweedy, imperious woman, the head of the ‘Pennyweather Academy’, any age.

PERCY PENNYWEATHER: Mrs Pennyweather’s son, a mousy young man.

GLORIA MUNDY: A pretty teenager, a pupil at the ‘Pennyweather Academy’.

FREDERIKA COLLINS: Another student at the ‘Pennyweather Academy’ – attractive in an intellectual way.

EMALINE FETTY: A backwoods ‘hill’ girl. Attractive, 18 plus.

COLONEL FOXHALL: A typical charming elderly Southern gentleman.

MRS STOKEY-SMYTHE: An elegant, fashionable, Beverly Hills social lady, any age.

MR OGLETHORPE: Smartly dressed president of a shipping firm, any age.

MS OGLETHORPE: His elegant wife, any age.

GROOVY MONAHAN: A swinging chick who talks in a rhythmic ‘groovy’ way. 18 plus.

LT. FRANK RICHARDS: A nice-looking young man, not too large physically.
